She has a background in cybersecurity and military service, which gives her a unique perspective on information technology and its challenges. Before joining Microsoft, Carley was a Team Chief and Cybersecurity Assessor for the Defense Industrial Base Cybersecurity Assessment Center (DIBCAC), where she developed and executed cybersecurity assessments for defense contractors. She also served as an Army Blackhawk helicopter pilot, leading a platoon and participating in warfighting operations in the USANG.
